Due to the resignation of Councilman Kirk McPike, there is a vacancy on the City Council. A special election is scheduled for April 21.
The Alexandria Democratic Committee hosted a firehouse primary on Saturday, February 21 and nominated Sandy Marks. The Alexandria Republican City Committee did not nominate a candidate. Two independent candidates have announced campaigns. As such, we have invited all candidates we have not yet heard from to respond to our questionnaire.
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is a registered non-profit and does not endorse candidates. As such, we invite all candidates to respond to our questionnaire and will paste their responses as we receive them.
